Mission: The Social Work Tech Task Force Working Group bridges practice and academia to consider technology use in social work. We develop practical resources, tools, and guidance for practicum supervisors and social work educators who are preparing students to navigate technology in practice settings. Our goal is ensuring future social workers are equipped to use tech ethically, effectively, and in service of client wellbeing.
About: The Social Work Tech Task Force Working Group is a self-organized collective of academics and practitioners united by our passion for ethical technology integration and deep commitment to the future of social work. We develop practical resources for practicum educators and social work instructors because we believe in empowering those who prepare the next generation of social workers.
Status: We are holding regular meetings and working toward projects. This page is new and will be updated in early 2026. Please take our brief survey below if you have ideas about what social workers, professors, agencies, and other stakeholders need related to the use of technology in social work education and practice.
This survey asks a few questions about what you need to help educate social workers about AI, and asks if you'd like to be involved in our conversations. It will help us provide resources that best meet the needs of educators and social workers. It's short!
